On 17th and 18th October, 32 students of classes 9th and 10th attended a workshop on Vedic Mathematics, Computations and Applications at Jawaharlal Nehru University. There were lectures by different speakers, highlighting how India has been the first to discover several mathematical concepts, and how the Vedic Sutras (formulae) help in making complex calculations much simpler. The topics covered in the lectures helped students in understanding the #Applications of the Vedic sutras in everyday mathematics,
#The_History of geometry, and #The_Sulpsutra, which is an ancient Indian document on Geometry. Further, they learnt about #Baudhayans_theorem and #Baudhayan-Triplets- which correspond to Pythagoras Theorem and Pythagorean triplets - and an easy way to calculate them.
